Songs about exes. Turns out I've got a closet's worth. It's good to finally get these songs down as I'd always dreamed they'd sound. As a broke teenager it wasn't just the simplest option to head to the nearest studio and record a decent sounding song, so I just recorded everything in less than sufficient acoustic renditions. This is what the 18 year old me had always wished these songs would have sounded like. Big thanks again to one, Mike Slockbower for getting me the drums to these songs so I could seal the deal and finish them once and for all.

The Soundtrack To Our Perfect Night

Laying on comfortable feathered sheets that smell of me,
Lights are off door half shut, the only sound is our breathing.

The steps sound, we look out and then just smile into proceeding.

This is our perfect night, no one’s gonna stop up us,
And nothing’s gonna top us now.

Dialogue consists of us being perfect.

She will say to me:
“You are way too cute. Oh, boy, you’ve gotta stop being so cute.”

And I will tell her:
“Girl, it’s just a reflection of everything that you do.”

The phone sounds, we bail out, and let the ring just serenade us.

It’s a soundtrack to add to the playlist that we have with the sounds I’ve made and sent from me to you. And it’s a perfect night to add to the list of things we have with the things that you and I, we have to do.

Do you remember the time that we looked into each other’s mesmerizing eyes and confessed we could to it forever, we confessed we could do it for ever.

(Do you remember when we laid in your bed, in the late summer’s end. And we spent what was the time of our lives. It was the best decision.)

I hope that you don’t forget everything I said, you know I meant ‘cause you say, I mean a lot to you. You know you mean a lot to me too. Well, hey, guess what. I like you. I like you a lot.
